• When hiring a painting company - What should you look out for?

  Make sure you hire someone who is experienced, licensed, bonded and insured. Make sure OSHA requirements are followed and only high-quality, durable paints are used. More often than not - you get what you pay for.

• What kind of brushes should I use with latex paint?

  Polyester and nylon brushes would likely serve you best with this kind of paint.

• Can I just paint existing surfaces or do I need to prep them first?

  Prep is essential! You want to make sure you clean ceilings from cobwebs and such, fix any holes, use dropcloths (not plastic) on the floors. You should also make sure all of your paint is mixed at the same time, to avoid multi-shade painting.

• Should I do it myself or hire professionals?
